Welcome from SPHN President, Nao Hagiwara
Greetings and welcome to the SPHN website!
The Social Personality and Health Network (SPHN) is a community of scientists dedicated to advancing theory, research, and practice in social and personality psychology within health contexts to promote better health outcomes for individuals from all communities and backgrounds. SPHN is deeply committed to the inclusion, recruitment, and empowerment of scholars from underrepresented and marginalized backgrounds. We value transdisciplinary approaches and the sharing of research across social and personality psychology, as well as the broader scientific and health communities.
A key priority of SPHN is to support and recognize our junior colleagues. Each year, we present the Early Career Award and the Outstanding Dissertation Award to honor exceptional contributions in social, personality, and health research. We also present the Diversity in Research Award to recognize exceptional scholars whose social, personality, and health research advances health outcomes for underrepresented and marginalized communities.
We are actively working on new initiatives to engage and support our members, including a webinar series, a database of fellow SPHN members, and mini-conferences. SPHN is continuously exploring additional ways to support our members and welcomes new ideas.
Please reach out to any of the SPHN Executive Committee members to share your thoughts. We also encourage you to check in regularly as we update content and resources to support our vibrant community.
